About us
At Phillips Funeral Directors, we have been giving our uncompromising compassion to the families of Hertfordshire since 1914, when Ernest Seymour founded our first funeral home in St Albans. We have always prided ourselves on our amazing team members, who conduct every aspect of their jobs with the utmost care and professionalism, always putting families first.
Our funeral homes and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, and we have a fleet of impeccable Jaguar and Mercedes Benz vehicles for anyone who wishes to use them on the day. Our homes are traditional and homely, with a wash and dress room available at Alma Roadd for our Sikh, Hindu and Muslim families.
We have close ties with our community, which is incredibly important to us; every year we take part in many local events, including supporting the annual Remembrance Service at The Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban.
We work closely with the officiants from the Church of England, Roman Catholic Church, Methodist Church, Baptist Church, United Reformed Church, Salvation Army, Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Islamic Centre, to name but a few.
We have also arranged services at the Abbey Theatre, Trestle Arts Base and local hotels. These connections are very special to us; The Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain and stands over the place where Alban, Britain's first saint, was buried after giving his life for his faith over 1700 years ago.
