You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.

Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.

If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.

Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

We are a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and as such we abide by The Funeral Director Code. We also have a legal obligation to try and ensure the person who is arranging a funeral has the right to do so, or has permission from those who do.

If there is no Will or Letters of Administration, then the responsibility would pass to the next of kin.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.

A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.

Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Very expensive for what was provided. Perhaps it's market prices, but it felt about £1000 more than was reasonable.

Whilst the 1st meeting with staff to arrange funeral for my mum was good, there wasn,t a great amount after.I had to ring on two occassions to find out info, to which I was informed they had info and was just about to ring me. There was no follow up calls after funeral to see if all went well and everything was as arranged. When paying balance off again then was no asking if all went ok and if we were happy with with arrangements. A little bit of concern and condolences would of been nice.

It has taken me three years and three months to write this review. It has taken me so long because I have been grieving so badly for my son that writing a review about how well his funeral was arranged, has been difficult on so many levels, mainly the fact that accepting his death has been/still is hard for me.

However, I just wanted to say how grateful I am to everyone there who helped me through the most difficult time of my life. They treated my son, and our family with the greatest respect.

They helped me deal with everything, from directing me to company's that make bespoke coffins, special types of hearses, and the wonderful celebrant (Chere), for whom I will be forever grateful for the way she led the ceremony. The pall bearers, the officiant and the rider of the motorcycle hearse, they were all exceptional and extremely respectful.

Woodmans even sent a normal hearse to follow the motorcycle hearse, to carry all the flowers. That was something we didn't know about until the day of the funeral. They gave me a memory bag too. Just so many little touches that meant so much to me.

My son died tragically by suicide during lockdown on April the 22nd, 2020.

Woodmans were the only funeral directors we could find at that time who would dress our beloved son instead of wrapping him in a shroud, and who would let us spend time with him in the Chapel of rest. It was difficult times because of the Covid pandemic, but Woodmans helped me to deal with everything while I was in no fit state mentally to deal with anything. They communicated with us every step of the way, and arranged everything exactly how we wanted.

Thank you, Woodmans. I have now organised my own funeral with dignity funerals and have named Woodmans as my preferred funeral director.

They could not have been kinder or more compassionate in such bad times. I felt that they understood how we, as a devastated family felt, and they looked after my son well, and the service received was excellent from the day they could get my son from the mortuary on the 5th of May until the day he was laid to rest on the 30th of May 2020.

Dean Richard Ashby. 10/10/86 - 22/04/20
