From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Cannot praise the team highly enough. Pauline is a lovely lady who spent a lot of her time ensuring that everything was perfect for mums funeral. She liaised through different family dynamics with calm and dignity. A shoulder to lean on during a time which nobody wants to go through. Highly recommend talking to Pymms to assist you during these sad times.
Awful treatment from a patronising lady called Pauline and very uncaring treatment from Blake who actually arranged my mothers funeral. It was pre-paid yet they tried to get me to pay an extra £695 which I refused as it had been paid in full confirmed by Golden leaves. I would avoid this funeral directors in the future and wouldn't recommend to anyone!

I cannot praise the staff enough. Pauline, Sophie and Rachel were exceptional and went above and beyond of what was expected.
They had a very small window to make plans and they pulled it out of the bag.
They were extremely caring and very personable.
I highly recommend FG Pymm for all your funeral needs. Definitely 5* rating
