Our parlour is regularly refurbished to ensure we have the most up-to-date facilities to care for your family. Our service room can seat up to 50 people and we also have private arranging rooms and viewing rooms available.

We are proud to be part of Dignity Funerals, a collection of the UKs finest funeral directors, with each and every one committed to setting superior standards.
Many Dignity funeral directors have been part of the local community for generations and it is a privilege to serve those who live beside us. Our rich and lengthy heritage ensures we can deliver our service with local knowledge and unparalleled expertise.
With two packages available, we will be able to arrange the funeral you have in mind for your loved one.
If you’re looking for a traditional or contemporary funeral with a service, you should consider our Attended Funeral. If you want us to arrange a simple cremation without mourners present, our Unattended Funeral may better suit your needs.
View our Standardised Price List, Additional Options Price List and Crematoria Price List.
Our Attended Funeral includes care of your loved one, a Park Coffin, a service at the place of committal which can be personalised as required for your loved one, followed by a burial or cremation.
When you choose the Chapel Service, our expert Funeral Directors will help arrange a one-hour service in one of our chapels. We will then conduct an unattended cremation with the highest levels of care.
Our chapels offer a peaceful setting where family and friends can remember and celebrate the life of your loved one. Once the ceremony is over, the cremation will take place without family or friends present. The cremation will be carried out with dignity and respect, overseen by one of our professional attendants.
Our Unattended Funeral will best suit your needs if you want to arrange a simple and straightforward cremation without a service or ceremony, allowing you and your loved one's friends and family to commemorate them in your own way.
Choose from a variety of options, including headstones and urns to memorial plaques, vases, statues, jewellery and plenty more. With a Memorial, you can create a tribute that especially reflects the life, love and cherished memories of your loved one.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Within five minutes of meeting Krystle Shaw, we knew our much loved mum was in safe hands at D Walsh & Son, Manchester Road.
Once mum was in their care, Krystle looked after mum as if she was an old, dear friend.
She took good care of us too, guiding us through the funeral process at such an emotional time and kept in contact every couple of days to see how we were.
On the day of the funeral, Krystle was wearing her stunning, formal uniform, complete with top hat and cane. The whole team were also very well presented and so respectful and courteous to us.
For mum’s final journey, Krystle led the procession by walking out into Manchester road, causing the traffic to pause, so that we could all follow in our cars.
At the crematorium Krystle doffed her hat , with a deep bow to mum’s coffin and also, with our permission, placed a rose from the arrangement at the side of mum’s portrait. It was the most touching and special act to witness.
Throughout the process of arranging the funeral, we have felt that nothing was too much trouble for us. All our requests were followed and the team were all very kind.
Thank you all- we cannot recommend you highly enough for your professionalism and kindness.
….. and Thank you Krystle, we couldn’t have done it without you. You are the perfect person for this role- the very best !
After my Auntys passing I can not thank D Walsh & Son enough for their caring professional manner from start to finish.
My first meeting was with Krystal the funeral Director. Krystal made me feel at ease with her calm compassionate manner and understood i had lost a best friend not just an Aunt. She took me through each stage of the funeral plan & nothing was too much trouble, She answered all of my many questions with warmth & sensitivity. Krystle sat with me on visiting Aunty in the Chapel of Rest on the eve of the funeral which made the visit easier.
All the staff were excellent on the day , vehicles were pristine and everything was explained thoroughly to myself , my sons and grandchildren who were pall bearers.
Paul Simpson , our celebrant , was exceptional and everyone commented and praised his presentation / Eulogy at Auntys funeral.
I can't thank all of Walsh's staff enough ❤
My Mum past away this April & obviously we are all deveasted. But I can not recommend D Walsh & their caring professional manner enough for their service.
Our first meeting was with Krystal the funeral Director. Straight away Krystal made us feel at ease with her calm compassionate manner. She took us slowly through stage by stage of the funeral plans & nothing was too much trouble & answering any questions with warmth & sensitivity. Such a warm wonderful Lady who became a friend to us all ❤️
All staff were excellent &
Our Mums, Nana's Funeral went smoothly & above & beyond our expectations.
Paul our celebrant , again was very professional & everyone said his delivery was excellent & perfect timing.
Thankyou so so much & we can not praise you all enough xxx
I lost my mum back in April and Krystle from D Walsh was fantastic from start to finish. During my encounter with Krystle, at all times she remained sympathetic, caring and displayed character traits as if she was a family member. All additional staff who participated in the caring of my mum, funeral arrangements and the actual funeral cortege were all very professional and showed empathy throughout my whole experience with the company.
I can say Krystle is a credit to this company and this includes all staff and I can honestly say that through a difficult time D Walsh gave me and my family a seamless experience.
